Diagnostic Testing

Diagnostic tests are used to identify an underlying imbalance or dysfunction in an individual’s normal physiology which could be contributing to their health condition. These involve taking samples of blood, urine, saliva or hair. Venetia McNeile Nutrition only works with the most established and reputable companies in the industry, to ensure that the latest technologies are used and the results are as accurate and informative as possible.

Allergy profiles and food intolerances
Allergies (food, additives, environmental) may be responsible for a range of symptoms including lack of energy, tiredness, digestive and skin problems. Intolerances may produce similar symptoms but will be more subtle and may result in a general feeling of being unwell. Using blood / saliva testing provides a clear analysis from which to base a nutritional programme, ensuring that each client receives the right balance of nutrients, whilst avoiding the foods which their body cannot tolerate.

Digestive Analysis
Anyone suffering from allergies, IBS or digestive problems may also benefit from having a stool analysis to assess the body’s ability to digest, absorb and utilise nutrients. Levels of good and bad bacteria, and the presence of yeast or parasites are also tested to assess their impact on the client’s health.

Hormone Testing
Long-term stress may have a negative impact on health via nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances and a weakened immune system. Testing the adrenal stress hormones in saliva indicates how the body is coping with the current level of stress. Other hormone profiles include thyroid function, and the female hormone panel which may be useful for addressing common conditions like PMS, endometriosis, PCOS, fertility and the menopause.

Nutritional Screening
Further tests are available to gain a more accurate picture of a client’s health. These include blood, urine, or a hair mineral analysis which may indicate vitamin & mineral imbalances, and the presence of toxic metals.
